Literacy in Science
How does your literacy impact scientific understanding?
Knowledge and understanding of language is so important for ensuring that you are able to grasp the content being covered. Scientific language can be incredibly dense, and in many cases scientific uses and everyday uses of words differ (for example the everyday use of "weight" instead of "mass").
Scientific literacy is your understanding of scientific concepts and processes, and your ability to apply this knowledge to new situations. Scientific literacy relies on your ability to read and view, speak and listen, and write effectively.
